Duties of the position will include, but are not limited
to, the following:
1. Assist with
planning and implementing curriculum activities.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
1. Recruit
families for participation in the Head Start and Early Head Start Programs through
community outreach activities and collaboration with community-based
organizations.
2. Work
with families from the point of application and intake to the program and
throughout their enrollment.
3.
Work closely with Health Services Coordinator to monitor
health requirements, provide necessary referrals, and complete follow-up.
4.
Conduct an assessment of the family’s needs and
develop family goals in partnership with family.
5.
Provide resources and referrals to families whose children
are participating in the program.
6.
Collaborate and coordinate with teaching staff, management
and support staff, to ensure the delivery of high quality services to
children and families.
7. Work in partnership
with teaching staff to promote parent involvement in various activities,
i.e. classroom activities, parent center committee meetings, literacy
programs and parent trainings.
8. Maintain a relationship
with school districts and community agencies to provide a continuum of
services to children and families, facilitate referrals, and advocate for
child/family needs.
9.
Conduct home visits with teaching staff to gather necessary
information about the child(ren) and their family.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
AA or BA degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology,
Education, Child Development or related field preferred.
2.
Minimum one (1) year of work experience in aforementioned
fields.
3.
Minimum one (1) year experience providing services to
low-income families.
4.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of case
management and family development.
5.
Knowledge of local community resources.
6.
Ability to handle multiple duties, maintain accurate
records and documentation, prioritize tasks, and complete work assignments
in a timely manner.
7.
Valid California
driver’s license, current automobile insurance and vehicle.
8.
Bilingual Spanish required.

ROLES &
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists families in identifying
strengths, developing goals, and assessing available resources through
a family assessment process.
- Encourages and promotes the
family’s achievement of self-sufficiency.
- Provides
scheduled weekly home visits with pregnant women and/or families with
infants/toddlers on a one-to-one basis (may include evenings/weekends).
Home visits promote parent involvement through the planning and
implementation of child development activities in the family’s
home environment.
- Provides ongoing assessment of
infants/toddlers in the Early Head Start Program using appropriate assessment
tools.

Executive

- Provides
direction, guidance, orientation, training and support to the Associate
Director, Fiscal Manager and Human Resources Manager.
- Conducts
formal staff evaluations according to the agency’s personnel

- Works
with the Senior Management staff in the development and provision of

- Ensures

and employee benefit plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s
degree from an accredited college or university-Master’s degree
highly desirable – with a major in any of the following
disciplines or a closely related field:

- Child
Development or Early Childhood Education
- Minimum
of 5-7 years of progressive, more responsible, management experience;
- Direct
experience in managing government funded programs;
- Involvement
in community, state, regional and national organizations;
- Grant
writing experience;
- Experience
with budgets and reporting requirements;
- Experience
working with underprivileged families and communities.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Ability
to understand and apply rules and regulations as dictated by the
Federal funded program – Head Start; State funded programs
– State Preschool, Cal-SAFE and the local Community Care Licensing.
- Ability
to plan, organize, allocate and control substantial resources.
- Ability
to communicate effectively in written and oral presentation.
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and
PowerPoint.
