To best meet the needs
of the communities that IHSD serves, the agency is continually
considering emerging local trends and the potential for expansion
of its early care and education programs.
With regard to continued expansion
and development, IHSD’s goals include:
Expanding
infant care
Increasing the number of infant care
programs for working families in San Mateo County.
Broadening
inclusion programs
Collaborating with local school districts and community agencies
to ensure the provision of disability services in natural environments.
Further developing
literacy efforts
Extending family literacy programs to focus on both children and
parent's literacy through various collaborative efforts.
Promoting
professional development
Furthering the development of our Teacher Qualification Program
to enhance program quality;seeking
additional opportunities for the skill development of family service
workers.
Increasing
efforts to promote health services
Working collaboratively with the San Mateo County Health Services
Agency to increase the number of children with health insurance,
and the number of children ready to begin school with a complete
physical exams and immunizations.
Expanding
school readiness partnerships
Building stronger relationships with local school districts to
enhance children's transitions into kindergarten.
